JNC Seeks FG’s Intervention on Medical Equipment Procurement

Nigeria’s medical equipment service and solutions company, JNC International Limited, has called on the federal and state governments to ensure the procurement of quality and sustainable medical equipment in Nigeria.

The Head of Sales, Surgical and Clinical Solutions of the company, Ms Ronke Adiele, said this at the Medic West Africa Conference organised by the company.

She said, “Health care services delivery carried out with the right equipment for medical diagnosis and drugs for treatment have a significant impact on the quality and cost of patient care in Nigeria.  One of the major issues we have in the health sector is that some of the regulatory bodies for medical equipment purchases in Nigeria are not well equipped to conduct research and analysis required for product registration.

“We need the federal and state governments to create guidelines that will ensure the  procurement of quality medical equipment in Nigeria. Also, the government must provide support for businesses in the health care sector to make equipment acquisition flexible.”

She said the event was organised to showcase innovative medical equipment from the company. “We are in partnership with over 16 leading manufacturers of medical equipment and after-sales support solutions for multiple clinical areas,” Adiele added.
