The Ministry wishes to bring to your notice the following information received from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation in order to keep you abreast and alert;

  1. The epidemic of cholera in the Northern Region of Cameroun bordering Adamawa and Taraba States with over seven Hundred and seventy five (775) confirmed cases and forty eight (48) deaths. It started since February, 2019
  2. British researchers have developed a prostate cancer testing method (Prostate Urine Risk-PUR) that can detect prostate cancer requiring urgent treatment within five [5) years using urine samples. This provides alternative to invasive methods
  3. National Institute for Health Research INIHR) University of Nottingham led by Dr. Cath REES have developed new Tuberculosis [TB) blood test called ACTIPHAGE which can notify in six (6) hours those at risk of developing the disease and treat patients with latent infections. It is suitable for children that cannot produce sputum and for mycobacterium infections in farmed animals.
