The Nigerian Healthcare Excellence Awards, an initiative of Global health project with Anadach group, USA is set to recognise some major contributors to health care development in Nigeria.
A statement issued by the Chairman, NHEA, Dr. Anthony Omolola, said the award was aimed at achieving best global standard practices in the health care development in Nigeria will hold on June 21 in Lagos.
“The award is an annual event aimed at celebrating individuals and organisations who have contributed immensely to the rapid growth and development of health care sector through innovative, efficient and qualitative health care delivery services that have significantly impacted the health and well-being of the citizens and focus on new standard of global best practices that have enhanced quality health care delivery in Nigeria.
“We believe that Nigeria needs quality health care services, hence the need to recognise those with significant impact. In doing so, other healthcare systems could strive towards excellence and work harder to bring about meaningful development and growth to the sector,” Omolola said.
He, however, noted that four new categories of the award were added to the 2019 nomination’s list, introduced by players in the pharmaceutical and financial service sector.
Also, the Country Director of PharmAccess Foundation Nigeria, Njide Ndili, has called on stakeholders in the health sector to support efforts aimed at boosting standard practices in the country.
Ndili, while expressing the foundation’s support for this year’s edition of the NHEA, said the foundation would continue to support initiative that would spur growth in the sector.
“This is our third consecutive year of partnership with NHEA but our second year as the sponsor of the innovative healthcare service provider award category. Our core objective is to promote innovation that improves access and efficiency in service delivery at scale, leveraging technology at an affordable cost without bias to your location, economic status or income level. We will continue to promote and support initiatives targeted at improving the health sector in the country,” he said.
