The Youth Empowerment and Development Initiative (YEDI), a non government organization has taken its outreach to residence in Agege areas of Lagos state.
Residents of the communities who came out in their large numbers to the Youth Sports Centre, Ile-Pako, Amoo, Agege, the venue of the outreach received free medical services like malaria, blood pressure, blood sugar and Hepatitis B tests, HIV/AIDS tests and counseling
The event also featured distribution of Long-Lasting Insecticidal Nets (LLINs) with usage demonstrations and distribution of information on global best practices on Malaria.
Oje Ivagba, Executive Director, YEDI , while speaking at the event which was supported by ExxonMobil and ACT Foundation,said that effort over the past years to combat malaria has yielded huge results and that the organization was in Agege community to improve the knowledge capacity of local people in the communities on what causes malaria and how to prevent it.
