Gwagwalada Chair Plans Sensitization on Drug Abuse

The Chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Alhaji Mustapha Adamu, has said the council is planning to constitute a forum with the aim of sensitising the youths in the area on the dangers of drug abuse. Mustapha said this at the St. Jonas Foundation Orphanage at Old Kutunku as part of activities to mark this year’s Children’s Day in the area council.
 
He said experts would be invited, especially the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and other relevant agencies, with a view to enlightening the children on the dangers of drug abuse. He also disclosed that the process of disbursement of scholarships to indigent students learning at various tertiary institutions across the country had reached advanced stage. City News gathered that during the chairman’s visit, food items were distributed to the orphanage in the spirit of the day.
