NIPRD And Indian High Commission To Promote Pharma Growth In Nigeria

The meeting focused on seeking mutually beneficial partnerships that would promote the growth of Pharmaceutic-al research and development in Nigeria. 
 
The DG/CEO of NIPRD, Dr. Adigwe stressed that he hopes for strategic engagements that would boost the volume of exports of technology and skills from India into African market and informed the High Commissioner that the long standing cordial relationships in enduring cultural synergies between India and Nigeria in many areas gives India an advantage to easily collaborate and leverage on such solid foundation of mutual trusts that already exist between the two countries.
 
Dr. Adigwe expressed his optimism that India would naturally be good development partner with NIPRD based on reputable faculty in the institute and up-to date certification in quality management systems and standard laboratory accreditations with ISO:90001 and ISO:17025.
 
H.E Reddy commended the DG/CEO of NIPRD for the extension of hands of partnerships to the Indian High Commission and assured him that on his part and that of the commission they are ready to push forward any collaboration that will enhance the South to South cooperation in line with several Indian African multilateral agreements. He requested the DG/CEO of NIPRD to maintain his good posture of reaching out for collaborative partnerships as the way to go for rapid development of any organization.

Assurances were made for interventions in the areas of staff training, study tours and energy infrastructure strengthening through solar power installations in line with the International Solar Alliance agreements to deploy renewable energy resources. The Indian High commission also agreed to facilitate staff capacity development through the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) training programs, study tours and exchange program for NIPRD staff to public institutions of interest in India.  
 
Other aspects assured by the High commissioner were partnerships to organize Pharmaceutical colloquium to bring together stakeholders in current pharmaceutical researches, policy makers and investors so as to network and chart out ways to actualize the Nigeria status as Pharma hub in Africa. The High Commissioner informed the DG of their support forpartnerships on integration of traditional and complimentary medicine to modern healthcare delivery inNigeria, based on their successful development of Indian Ayuverdic and Yoga traditional and complimentary medicine.
