The National President of the Institute of Health Service Administrators of Nigeria, Dr Atolani Oluboyede, has called on private health sector investors in the country to collaborate with the Federal Government in order to make quality health care services available to more Nigerians.
Oluboyede, who spoke during the opening ceremony of the 32nd National Conference and Annual General Meeting of the Institute, held at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Complex Ile Ife, Osun State, said the government could no longer provide the infrastructural requirements necessary for quality health care delivery.
He said, “Pubic-private partnership has been embraced as the viable solution to the problem of health care financing globally.
“Governments should pursue the public-private collaboration model to solve funding challenges militating against quality health care delivery in the country.”
Senator Iyiola Omisore, while delivering a paper themed, ‘Public-Private Partnership: An alternative to health care financing and development in the health sector’, called on the Federal Government to embrace the PPP option because of the rising costs of delivering quality health care services to Nigerians.
