Medical Director, General Hospital Isolo, Dr. Godwin Akhabhoa, has charged Nigerian health workers to resist the urge of seeking greener pastures abroad due to the degrading state of the nation’s healthcare system.
Adding that health workers’ emigration could further cripple the health sector, he advised medical workers to stay back and contribute their quota to achieve a wholesome health sector in the country.
Speaking during the 2018 Service Charter Week in Lagos, Dr. Akhabhoa emphasised the hospital’s commitment to providing quality services for its teeming patients and noted that the hospital would dutifully utilise the limited resources to provide quality and satisfactory medical services.
“With team work, the management and staff of the hospital would achieve such aim. The hospital exists to provide medical service to patients. We also appreciate patients’ feedback to help us improve on any area we may not have measured up. In any area of our work that you feel is not satisfactory, do not hesitate to call our attention,” he added.
In her goodwill message, Commissioner, Lagos State Health Service Commission Board, Dr. Musirat Oyekan, commended the hospital for its great contribution to quality healthcare delivery in the State.
In recognition of this, she said, the state Governor, Akinwumi Ambode has given the hospital two units of defibrillators, an apparatus used to control hear fibrillation.
Delivering a lecture titled: “Growth mindset”, Director of Creativity and Innovation, Lagos State, Ademuyiwa Toyin urged the hospital staff to imbibe the growth mindset for quality and world class output.
The highlights of the occasion were the presentation of the most outstanding service charter compliance officer for the third quarter, Dr. Akiseku Oluwabunmi and unveiling of an anthem for the hospital.
