C/River Agency Forces School Pupils To Pack Refuse With Bare Hands

On 19/Oct/2017 / In Medical News

An Agency known as The Green Sheriff, created under the auspicious Governor of Cross River State, Prof. Ben Ayade had done a bizarre thingy as they asked the Pupils of Edgerly Memorial Girls Secondary School on Wednesday to pack dirt with their bare hands in Calabar, the state capital.

Despite the outbreak of Monkey Pox which has already invaded eleven (11) states – according to the Federal Ministry of Health, the students were forced to pick up dirt from the ground that was littered under an already filled bins. This, everyone knows is unhygienic and will surely lead to any hand-picked communicable diseases – which monkey pox is likely one of them.

Recently, the Wife of the Governor, Dr. Linda Ayade flagged of a hand washing campaign with the theme, “Our Hands, Our Future” – which means, putting your hands in places like public refuse bins can mere your future. What will happen to these children, if afterwards their hands are not properly washed?
A question to hit the aorta; were the students supposed to be the ones to clean and dispose dirt or refuses from their schools? What happened to the paid cleaners?

According to a Facebook post from Ayade’s Aide, the students were caught dumping refuse on the ground by the Green Sheriff, an agency created to ensuring environmental sanity in the state.

“Green Sheriff ensuring environmental sanity in Cross River State as the men of the sheriff this morning caught students of edgerly memorial girls secondary school dumping refuse on the ground .

“They were taken to their school authority and seriously warned never to repeat the act again. This happened at Edgerly Street.” the post reads.

This is absolutely insane! The photos attached to the post shows that the bins were already filled, therefore people pour their refuses on the ground. Why asked the students to even use their bare hands to pack the refuse? Even if you have made it to be a punishment…

It’s not the first time, Calabar Reporters can categorically tell, as photos of the so called Green Sheriff are being spread on the Internet forcing citizens to use their bare hands to pack dirt from around refuse bins.

If the people have the sense of belonging to carry their refuses from their homes, business places to dispose in a bin; don’t you think they’d dispose them properly if the bins are always emptied?

The government needs to readdress this, especially that of the pupils. It’s abnormal and disheartening.
