Redeemer’s University is a world class teaching and research institution with well equipped and functional facilities across disciplines, particularly, in the Humanities, Social and Management Sciences, and Natural Sciences. The standard of our faculties attest to the recent World Bank Grant Won by the university to fund the establishment of the African Centre of Excellence for Genomics of Infectious Diseases (ACEGID).

                                                                                                                       2013/2014 POSTGRADUATE ADMISSIONS
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into full-time post graduate programmes of the Redeemer’s University for the 2013-2014 Academic Session in the following programmes:

A. DEPARTMENT OF BEHAVIOURAL STUDIES:
1. PGD, M.Sc/M.Phil/Ph.D (Psychology) with specialisation in
a. Clinical Psychology
b. Developmental Psychology
c. Industrial/Organisational Psychology
d. Social Psychology

Admission Requirements
Candidates for admission into PGD Programme in Psychology should possess good (Hons) Degrees or Higher National Diploma, from recognised institutions.
In addition, candidates must also satisfy the UTME requirements of credit passes in five subjects, including English Language, Biology and Mathematics for B. Sc Psychology.
Candidates for admission into M.Sc. Psychology (Clinical, Developmental, Industrial/Organisational, or Social option) must possess at least Second Class Upper Division from recognised universities. Candidates with Second Class Lower Division but with a CGPA of 3.00 on a 5- point scale or 4.50 on a 7-point scale may also be considered. In addition, all prospective candidates must satisfy the UTME requirements of Credit Passes in five subjects, including English Language, Biology and Mathematics for B. Sc. Psychology .
Candidates for admission into Ph.D Psychology (Clinical, Developmental, Industrial/ Organisational, or Social option) must possess M. Sc. in Psychology from institutions recognised by the Redeemer’s University Senate, with a weighted average of at least 60% or equivalent grade. Candidates who obtained a weighted average of between 55% and 59.5% at the M. Sc. level may be admitted into the M.Phil/Ph.D Programme.
 
2. MMP (Professional Masters in Managerial Psychology)

Admission Requirements
a. Candidates must possess and satisfy the UTME requirements for First Degree in the Redeemer’s University
b. Candidates must all be managers or its equivalent with at least 5 years cognate experience.
c. Candidates must also possess any of these qualifications:
i. an honours degree in Psychology or its cognate discipline
ii. an Higher National Diploma (HND)
iii. any of the under listed professional qualifications:
A.I.B , A.C.A , A.C.C.A , A.C.I.S, e.t.c.
 
3. DEPARTMENT OF BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES
M.Sc/Ph.D (Microbiology) with specialisation in:
a. Food Microbiology
b. Medical Microbiology (Bacteriology, Virology)
c. Environmental Microbiology
d. Molecular Biology and Genetics
i. Candidates must have at least five (5) credit passes at “O” level, including English Language, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology and any other science subject.
ii. A candidate with First Class or Second Class (Hons) Upper Division in Microbiology or any equivalent (Botany, Zoology, Biology and Biochemistry) from Redeemer's University or other Universities recognised by the Senate is eligible for admission.
iii. A candidate with Second Class (Hons) Lower Division in Microbiology from any other University may be eligible for admission depending on the initiative of the department.
iv. Candidates applying for Ph.D degree should have obtained an M.Sc. degree in Microbiology or related disciplines from Redeemer's University or any other recognised University, with at least a weighted average of 60%. (B)

Other General Requirements
In addition to the various departmental requirements, prospective candidates must satisfy the general regulations governing postgraduate admissions at the Redeemer’s University:
a. must participate and pass the validity interview of the College of Postgraduate Studies Redeemer’s University.
b. must have completed the mandatory one year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme or certificate of exemption in lieu.
c. to submit three (3) referee's report attesting to the candidate's intellectual capacity and aptitude for independent research problem solving.

DURATION OF PROGRAMME
All Academic and Professional Masters of Arts and Science Programmes shall be for a minimum period of four (4) academic semesters (24 months) and a maximum of six (6) academic semesters (36 calendar months), while PhD programmes are for a minimum of six (6) academic semesters (36 calendar months) and maximum of (48 months) i.e. eight (8) academics semesters.
